Al Mohannadi: Traffic fines accumulated before 11/30/2018 are dropped

Lt. Col. Muhammad Juma Al Mohannadi, Head of Traffic Violations Section at the General Traffic Department, confirmed that according to the Ministry of Interior’s initiative regarding a 50% discount on accumulated violations, owners of traffic violations accumulated before 11/30/2018 can renew their car registration forms without paying any fines, because they were automatically dropped.

 

Al-Mohannadi said - in an interview with Al-Rayyan TV - that the ministry's initiative with a 50% discount continues until March 17, 2022, explaining that after the end of this initiative, the normal discount on traffic violations will return to 50% for a period of 30 days from the date of notification of the violator.

 

He added that after the initiative ends on March 17, 2022, the accumulated violations will have to be paid in the full value of the violations, and the old amount without any deduction.

 

The head of the Traffic Violations Section confirmed that there is an emphasis on the accumulated violations and their referral to the Case Follow-up Office at the General Traffic Department and to take action against the violators.

 

The Ministry of Interior had announced that under the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the "Initiative to Settlement of Accumulated Traffic Violations" was launched.

 

The initiative includes activating a 50% discount from the amount of violations for a period of 3 months starting from December 18, 2021, coinciding with the celebrations of the National Day of the State and to facilitate the public to regularize their conditions and settle the accumulated violations.
